All trails are open sunrise to sunset, except during extreme or hazardous weather conditions. All trails are closed 48 hours after continuous rain. Some parks take longer to dry than others; those areas may be closed for longer periods of time. Also, all trails may be closed during red flag days and the presence of other hazardous factors.

Trail Etiquette and Safety Rules

Hacienda Hills Trailhead

Trail access at 7th Avenue and Orange Grove. 91745.  Take the 60 freeway and exit at 7th Avenue. Travel south and the trailhead is at the end of 7th Avenue.   ADA accessible. Click here for a Hacienda Hills trails map (9 Mb).

Turnbull Canyon

Trail access off Turnbull Canyon Road approximately ½ mile east of Painter Avenue.
From 10 freeway go south on 605 freeway, exit Beverly Blvd. EAST. Go east on Beverly Blvd. for 3 miles until it turns into Turnbull Canyon Road. Trailhead is on the left. Click here for a trails map of Turnbull Canyon and Worsham (12 Mb).

Hellman Park –
5700 Greenleaf Avenue, Whittier 90601 (address for mapping purposes only)

Hellman will be closed for 1-2 months beginning January 18, 2017 due to trail work. Click for details.

Arroyo Pescadero Trailhead

Sycamore Canyon Trailhead

Schabarum Park

(this is a Los Angeles County Park, not part of the Preserve)

The Schabarum Trail (Skyline Trail) can be accessed from this regional park, off Colima Road, just east of Azusa Avenue in Rowland Heights.
Parking: Vehicle entry fee applies on weekends and holidays.

Powder Canyon Trailhead

2345 Fullerton Road, La Habra Heights 90631
Trail access on Fullerton Road near Pathfinder and Harbor Blvd. Parking lot located inside the Preserve — go to the second gate, between East Road and Harbor Blvd. ADA accessible. As of 12/28/16, the Gray Squirrel Trail is closed due to hazardous conditions. The entrance road and parking lot are typically closed several days after rains.
