Need a break and a bit of extra time in nature? Starting June 1, Sycamore, Turnbull and Hacienda Hills will be open until 6pm. June 1 thru Sept 30 hours are 9am to 6pm. Arroyo Pescadero and Powder Canyon remain open sunrise to sunset. Preserve hours are designed to help the wildlife in the hills survive and thrive. Let’s do this, trail users! Now’s the time to sport those face coverings and keep 6 feet apart on the trails. We started off so well. The LA County Health Order requires that everyone over 2 years old needs a face covering at the trailhead/parking lots and on any trails where there are other groups of people nearby. The Habitat Authority will be re-opening some trails on Saturday, May 9, 2020. If trail users demonstrate a lack of compliance with social distancing, wearing masks and group gathering then the trails will be closed. If other COVID-19 related public safety concerns develop, closures may be necessitated to protect public health and safety. Hellman –Stays closed. Los Angeles City set the precedent with keeping their busy Runyon Canyon closed, and Runyon Canyon’s congestion and neighborhood parking issues are very similar to Hellman.
