Volunteer Docent & Trail Watch Training Class Descriptions

We are excited to relaunch our volunteer program and would love to have you join our team. Our five- to six-week training program prepares volunteers to serve in one or both of the following roles:

Volunteer commitment: 48 Hrs/Year Minimum

  • Trail Docent: Lead engaging nature walks for school groups and community members while sharing the unique ecology and history of the preserve.
  • Trail Watch: Help be the rangers eyes and ears on the trails. Keep our trails safe by monitoring trail conditions, reporting maintenance and safety concerns, and serving as a friendly presence for visitors.
 
The attached flyer provides an overview of each training session and what you can expect throughout the program.
 
Here is how to get started:
  1. Complete the volunteer application through Better Impact. 
  2. Participate in a volunteer interview.
  3. Complete a Live Scan background check (provided at no cost).
  4. Join the community and train to become a volunteer for the Preserve!
