Volunteers needed for 4th of July Static Patrol
We are accepting sign-ups for the July 4th Fire Prevention static patrol. This is very important, and your assistance will help the multi-agency effort to keep the hills safe from fires. If you are interested in helping out – there is a pre-meeting on Saturday, June 29th at 9am at the Sycamore Canyon barn (located just before you get to the trailhead). The meeting is to discuss logistics for the actual assignments on July the 4th.
The preserve will be CLOSED TO ALL HIKERS the evening of JULY 4th
Also – if you sign up to volunteer for July 4th, your fellow Habitat volunteer Bruce Everett is welcoming you to his house: “Free Burgers and dogs on the grill at my house. I will also have the usual buns, lettuce, onions, mayonnaise, mustard, & ketchup, along with Guacamole, Salsa, and chips. Assorted soft drinks and water. You may also bring your own meat or veggie burger. I have a typical gas grill. The party starts at 5 PM so you will have plenty of time to share with your fellow Docents/Trail Watchers before leaving for your stations. The address is: 14200 Skyline Dr, Hacienda Heights, 91745
